Booking and Payment

PIX, bank transfer, and international credit cards. Payment in Brazilian Reais (BRL) or US Dollars (USD) by arrangement.
Yes, on request. Instalment options depend on the experience and total. Let us know your preference when you message us.
Cancel more than 48h ahead: full refund. Less than 48h: 50% retention. No-show: no refund. Force majeure (extreme weather): free rescheduling.
The Experiences
Yes. Every Gontijo Tour experience is 100% private — you never share with another group.
Portuguese, English, and Spanish — including rioplatense Spanish for visitors from Argentina and Uruguay.
Varies by experience, but typically: private guide, tickets, and local logistics. Biometric registration (Maracanã) is included. Transfer may be included or arranged separately — confirm in your quote.
Ideally 3 to 7 days ahead. In high season (December–March and July), we recommend at least 2 weeks.
Safety and Logistics
Yes, with a local guide who knows the territory. Daniel has partnerships inside the community and runs the route through validated areas. We don't recommend visiting without a guide.
Yes, in most places. Daniel walks you through the local etiquette — in some parts of Rocinha it's better to put the camera away out of respect for residents.
The meeting point is agreed by WhatsApp before the tour, based on your accommodation and the experience booked. We arrive 10 minutes early.
For outdoor experiences (helicopter, Christ trail), we reschedule at no cost if weather makes the tour unsafe.
Maracanã and Other Experiences
Yes — biometric enrolment has been mandatory since 2023. Daniel sends you the full step-by-step on booking confirmation. The process takes about 8 minutes and means queue-free entry on every future visit.
Yes. Daniel shares the fixture list for your travel dates and you pick the match. Flamengo and Fluminense are the home clubs with the most frequent games.
Depending on the aircraft available that day: 3 to 5 passengers per flight. Larger groups can be accommodated across consecutive flights.
Depends on the experience. Christ the Redeemer (train + stairs) and Rocinha (uneven terrain) have limitations. Helicopter and VIP Transfer are fully accessible. Mention any special needs when you book.
